Women's Leadership Initiative, a special committee of United Way of Jamaica, has, for the past 14 years, provided financing for the upgrading of services and facilities at the school and has also provided scholarships. The school, which is located at the Voluntary Organisation for the Upliftment of Children (VOUCH), caters to students from several underserved communities in downtown Kingston. More than 60 volunteers from the bank and WLI members worked on upgrading the playground for the school's 130 students. Since 2006, Citi employees have regularly been involved in a voluntary initiative called Citi Global Community Day - a worldwide volunteering day on which employees may participate in the various activities of local non-profit.
